PRE-CONFERENCE: Movement Mobilization – Hosted by 100 Movements
Ten years ago, in his ground breaking and seminal book called The Forgotten Ways, Alan Hirsch identified 6 key elements that he suggested were common in every significant Christian movement. Over the last 10 years, numerous churches and Christian organizations have used this resource to help them begin to reimagine their own church as a movement. The challenge for the church has been and is to move those same ideas from paradigm shift to practice. This Exponential Movement Pre-conference will help Christian leaders and churches identify, assess and grow their practice of these 6 key elements for movement capacity. While many churches excel in some of these elements, few have been able to reach Level 5 capacity in all 6 parts of the mDNA (movement DNA). In this Multiplication Pre-Conference Journey, leaders will be introduced to the 6 elements of mDNA, leverage the biblical narrative as an interpretive lens for understanding their church's journey toward movement capacity, and identify the major barriers to making progress in building out their church as a movement. See list of all speakers in this pre-conference here.
Day / Time: Monday 1:00pm – 5:00pm and Tuesday 8:00am – 11:30am
Location: Faith Hall - Room 349

Workshop Session 1: Why Multiplication Thinking (Alone) Will Never Create a Movement
By developing an interpretive lens for the progression of moving biblical mysteries to movement practicalities, this workshop will introduce the importance of understanding the imperative connection between good ideas and effective practices. Do we know which side of the equation we favor and how that impacts our leadership journey? Do we know how to close the gap? Join the 100M team as paradigm shift and practice collide into a dynamic discussion of why multiplication thinking cannot create a movement unless it is tied to the practice of movement.
Time: Tuesday, 2:30 – 3:30pm
Location: Faith Hall - Room 301H

Workshop Session 2: Multiplication: The Move to Becoming 5
In this workshop the100M team will provide a biblical narrative for the journey toward becoming a Level 5 church, moving beyond addition to multiplication. Leveraging the Exodus story, we'll uncover the major rites of passage, the temptations as well as the indicators for each of the 5 stages of Movement.
Time: Wednesday, 8:45 – 9:45am
Location: Faith Hall - Room 301H

Workshop Session 4: Movement Busters
Everyone wants to build a movement, but few do. And most of the time it's not because people are trying not to. In this workshop the 100M team will help you identify and overcome several Movement Busters that might be standing in the way of your church's path to multiplication.
Time: Wednesday, 2:30 – 3:30pm
Location: Faith Hall - Room 301H

Workshop Session 5: Movement Initiative: Practical Next Steps to Building the Church as a Movement
