Patrick first became involved with church planting when he joined the New Life Christian Church launch team in 1992. Several years after launch, God called Patrick to full-time vocational ministry. He served as a general associate minister focusing on operations and administration for five years before transitioning to lead New Life's church planting ministry, Passion for Planting (P4P). In this role Patrick was a project manager for dozens of church plants and developed many systems and processes to be used with church plants across the US. P4P has since grown to a national ministry being significantly involved in over 80 church plants and providing resources to countless more. In addition to continuing oversight of P4P, Patrick serves as Executive Minister at New Life, a multi-site church outside Washington D.C. Patrick lives in Fairfax, VA with his incredibly supportive wife and son. They enjoy movies and geocaching.

Workshop Session 2: Building Momentum in the New Church (Getting Butts in Seats)
One of the key challenges for the church planter is building momentum – yes, getting butts in seats. During this workshop, we'll explore principles and proven methods to address this challenge. We'll address questions such as: Does a direct mail campaign still work? Can't we just accomplish the same goals with social media? How important is a clear vision, mission, and core values? How do you move people from a community service event to a church service? How do you get your brand recognized by the community? What kind of safe, non-churchy gatherings can you host to connect with non-Christians? Please join us for this interactive workshop to explore the common tensions associated with getting butts in seats.
Time: Wednesday, 8:45 – 9:45am
Location: Faith Hall - Room 349
