Dr. Beth Seversen (PhD Intercultural Studies, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School) is the author of Not Done Yet: Reaching and Keeping Unchurched Emerging Adults (IVPress, 2020) and former Associate Professor of Youth and Christian Ministries Studies at North Park University in Chicago (2018-2021). Previously Beth was the denominational Director of Evangelism for the Evangelical Covenant Church. She has served as associate pastor at churches in Kansas City (Hillcrest Covenant Church) and Milwaukee (Elmbrook Church), a church planter, and in campus ministry with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. Beth is President of the Academy for Evangelism in Theological Education and resides in Santa Barbara, California where her husband is lead pastor of Montecito Covenant Church. Beth’s life is saturated with emerging adults: as university faculty, a parent of three young adult daughters and two-sons-in-law, and the Seversens live in community with six young adults. Centered on mission to the west, Beth’s research focuses on North American churches effectively reaching, retaining, and incorporating young adults across the ethnic mosaic. Beth’s passion: May God usher his kingdom into the lives of young adults everywhere.
