SESSIONS

PRE-CONFERENCE: 5Q Leadership Revolution: Using APEST to Create Movemental Culture – Hosted by 5Q
Many churches and church leaders have accepted the idea of the APEST model in principle for their local expression, denomination, or agency. But it’s time to push past principle and paradigm, and dive headlong into practice and process. If we will do that, we will help build a leadership revolution that can finally lead us to the frontlines of church-as-movement. We believe that APEST is one of the keys to unlocking and unleashing the potential held in the Body of Christ as a whole, as well as a main tool to mobilizing and maturing disciples. In this Pre-Conference, we will do a very brief overview of APEST, and then shift to the discussion around Fivefold Intelligence (5Q) and the Activation, Implementation, Equipping Growth, Marks of health and Stewardship of this leadership in your culture. Full list of speakers for this pre-con here.
Day / Time: Monday 1:00pm — 5:00pm and Tuesday 8:00am — 11:30am

Workshop Session 1: Unity: Laying the Foundation & Equipping the Body for Unity - Ephesians 4:1-6
In the midst of contextualization and specialization, it is possible to lose sight of the singular goal of the Great Commission. Scripture continually emphasizes the importance of our unity in Christ and as a community of believers. This foundational truth shapes our journey, fruitfulness, and witness. This workshop will seek to establish the biblical foundation and emphasis of unity found in Ephesians 4:1-6. We will discuss why this has to laid and established before you begin to emphasize diversity (APEST) and how unity undergirds, facilitates and maximizes discipleship and movement. We will also look at some practical tools to help maintain the unity of the body while we journey into the empowerment of diverse giftings.
Time: Tuesday, 2:30pm — 3:30pm
Location: Faith Hall - Room 301C
Speakers: Rich Robinson, Joshua Johnson, Oneya Okuwobi, Brian Sims, Lindsey Harwood, Kimberly Culbertson

Workshop Session 2: Using APEST to Strengthen the Pillars and Equip the Body for Growth - Ephesians 4:7-12
APEST can often be seen as an individual calling or competency grid, a personal gifting or ministry, a title or an office. But is it meant to be so much more than an assessment of personality traits, a box or badge, or an excuse. Working from our foundation of unity in the mission of God, this workshop will explore the how APEST provides a diversity of expression and contextualization that is both complete and holistic. We will discuss the different capacities of APEST and discuss practically how they can come together to accomplish the singular mission of the church and provide a biblical framework for unity beyond complexity. We will discuss how they can be corporate, as well as individual, and can be marks of the church that speak to her health and vitality.
Time: Wednesday, 8:45am — 9:45am
